Mt. Brighton Adaptive Sports promotes a better life through outdoor recreation!
Mt. Brighton Adaptive Sports Program assists children and adults with disabilities to participate in outdoor recreation through scholarships, lessons and with assistance to purchase adaptive equipment.
Our goal is to extend the thrill of skiing and snowboarding to guests of all ages and abilities. This is accomplished with a large variety of adaptive equipment to assess individual needs prior to arrival and to ensure that the appropriate equipment is available. Specially trained professional instructors also tailor each lesson to the needs of the participant for a safe, yet unforgettable experience.
We are recognized as a leader in providing first class training to people of all abilities.
Mt. Brighton Veterans Program
The mission of the Mt. Brighton Veteran's program is to provide US military veterans the opportunity to learn to ski or snowboard while focusing on their abilities, not disabilities.
The program offers a positive aspect of transition for the veterans and their families into life with their disability. Allowing veterans to experience the thrill of skiing or riding and overcoming adversity or just "get back on the mountain".
Mt. Brighton Adaptive instructors have attended the Hartford Ski Spectacular hosted by Breckenridge Resort in Breckenridge Colorado in December 2014. Half and full day sessions attended included instruction on Mono-skiing, Bi-skiing, and how to make lessons fun. In addition Stand-up Slider training was introduced. (see photos left)
The organization for Disabled American Veterans provide an entire semi trailer of the most current adaptive equipment in the industry (see photo left).
The Mt. Brighton Adaptive program has many opportunities for volunteers. Not a skier or boarder, that's OK we can also utilize your gifts and talents in the areas of social media, photography, fundraising and public relations.
